VIN 1981-1987 VIN
The 1973-1980 Chevy trucks had the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) stamped in many
different places on the truck. Part of the number is stamped on the engine block and
transmission. You can find the entire number on the inside of the left hand door
pillar for the 1973-1978 trucks, after that all VINs were located in the dash on the
drivers side at the base of the window. Below are the links to the Light and Medium Duty Pickups
All 1973-1986 Pickup Trucks and Suburbans were C for 2WD or K for 4WD. All Blazers were K series
All 1987-1991 Pickup Trucks and Suburbans were R for 2WD or V for 4WD. All Blazers were K series
